Elvis and Kresse
Large Washbag Red Made Of British Reclaimed Firehose/Parachute Silk
DESCRIPTION
A surprising yet brilliant washbag. Made from British decommissioned fire-hose, not only does this washbag have a story behind it, but the material is water-resistant, making it perfect for protecting your essential toiletries. The bag is roomy and lined with waste parachute silk, adding to the quality and intrigue.
Elvis & Kresse make bags, belts and wallets from upcycled fire hose and military parachute silk. All items are made from reclaimed materials. The process emulates kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. The refurbished pieces are worth significantly more than their new, undamaged counterparts.

People
Elvis and Kresse run their own production facilities with their own teams, therefore working conditions meet their high standards. They employ highly skilled craftspeople and pay them well. Elvis and Kresse tracks the living and minimum wage in Turkey and always pays its workers above both, and the living wage is also paid in its UK base. Factory visits happen every two months and senior staff are always available to contact remotely if there are any matters to discuss.
Planet
The reclaimed fire hose is sourced from brigades across Britain, keeping carbon miles low. The use of reclaimed materials reduces the need for virgin resources to be consumed and saves useful items from ending up in landfill.
Areas for development
This is an exemplary supply chain and we have not found a clear and obvious area for development. We are proud to showcase Elvis and Kresse on Brothers We Stand.
Suppliers
Elvis and Kresse run their own production facilities, one site in Kent, England and one in Istanbul, Turkey. The work is split evenly between the two. All of the material preparation and finishing happens in the UK. Most of the larger production runs happen in Istanbul, using the material preparation from the UK.
